'I believe that playing music should be enjoyable, so I always do my best to tailor lessons to a student's individual needs and goals, while challenging them to work hard and realize their potential.' - Elyse

Teaching Philosophy

In my experience, developing solid classical technique, a good ear, fluency in note-reading, and an understanding of basic music theory allows a violinist to eventually learn to play any style of music they like. These things, therefore, are central to my teaching. I am a kind and patient teacher, but am diligent about ensuring that students avoid developing bad habits that can be hard to break later on. I believe that playing music should be enjoyable, so I always do my best to tailor lessons to a student's individual needs and goals, while challenging them to work hard and realize their potential.
