Teaching Philosophy

Hi Everyone! My name is Julia and I am a voice instructor who is looking forward to meeting you and to helping you achieve your musical goals – big or small! As a child, I was drawn to music at an early age, beginning piano lessons at age 5 and singing lessons at age 7, both at my own request. I’ve always loved having music in my life! Growing up I competed in local music festivals, completed RCM exams in piano, theory, and voice, sang in choirs, performed in musicals, and joined a jazz ensemble. Whether you’re looking to complete exams, work towards competitions, perform an open mic night, or simply gain the confidence to sing along to the radio or in the shower, music should be fun! I look forward to helping you discover your potential and to learn new skills that will make your talent shine in a fun and supportive learning environment. I enjoy singing and teaching in many styles such as Musical Theatre, Classical, Folk, and Jazz. I teach music because I know how much it can enrich a person’s life growing up and in adulthood as well. I’m an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and dedicated teacher and I look forward to sharing my musical joy and expertise and making music lessons fun for my students! Hope to hear from you soon, Julia
